First, let's say what we already know: Hřebenovka is a reborn traditional long-distance route connecting areas of beautiful wild nature from the foothills of the Ore Mountains through the Bohemian Switzerland National Park to the first volcanic cones of the Lužihory. Over a hundred kilometers, the landscape changes dramatically several times, so you can taste a bit of the rawness of the Ore Mountains, the tightness of the sandy mazes of rock towns, the monumentality of the Elbe Valley, and the picturesqueness of the more open Lusatian pastures.

Although Hřebenovka continues a centuries-old tourist tradition , it is also a hot new feature after its recent unification and is becoming a trend that supports not only the interest of an increasing number of visitors, but also the two regions through which it passes - Ústí nad Labem and Liberec.

Joining the Hřebenáč family , as those who walked Hřebenovka through Bohemian Switzerland came to be called, is therefore an item that you simply have to write in your travel diary sooner or later (but better sooner than later). And not only in your own travel diary. Hřebenáč are quite sociable and sociable, so more and more mentions marked with the hashtag #jduhrebenovku appear on social networks, which in turn attract more and more long-distance walkers to the path.

That's why those who care for Hřebenovka decided to meet the needs of travelers and set up unique photo points along the route, where it is possible to take a "branded" family photo and share it with other Hřebenáči.

How to recognize photo points ? Simple. They are found at important places in Hřebenovka, they are made of solid oak wood and have the shape of a ridge. They are gradually increasing along the route, but currently, at the end of 2025, there will be a total of eleven . At Stožecký sedlo, at Nádraží Jedlová, in Krásná Lípa behind the House of Bohemian Switzerland, in Děčín under the Elbe Castle, in Petrovice, in Jetřichovice, in Mezná, Mezní Louka, in Hřensko, Ostrov and on Děčínský Sněžník. You will become an even greater Hřebenáč if you take a picture with one of the holy relics (simply put, with merch :) of Hřebenovka at the photo point.

Official merch , or as it was previously called – souvenir, has the Hřebenovka logo on it and is usually made in cooperation with regional craftsmen and producers. New products with the Hřebenovka logo include wooden hair combs , carved by the company Stromy a život pana Kříž from Varnsdorf. Mr. Kříž also makes wooden key chains for Hřebenovka. But that's not the only wooden thing you can bring back from Hřebenovka as a souvenir. A young Czech company from the Beskydy Mountains, BeWooden, supplies wooden necessities for Hřebenovka in the form of brooches, earrings and pendants . And another Czech product designer, Bětka Ježková, who founded the company Bjež, has joined the Hřebenáč family with her unbeatable, practical and stylish headbands for running , walking, cycling and any other movement where you don't need your hair flying around your face, icy wind penetrating your ears and frost penetrating your sinuses. Bjež supplies headbands with the Hřebenovka logo in three color versions and one with illustrations by the famous cartoonist and journalist Marek Douša. That's why you'll stand out in photos in a particularly comb-like way, even without a comb, which you don't want to weigh down your backpack with on the way. You can also wear a Hřebenovka souvenir on your backpack or another piece of clothing, just buy a badge or a slightly more original, albeit a bit more laborious, appliqué .

And then there's another hot new product with the Hřebenovka logo. It's not literally hot, but it will still warm you up, not only in the heart, but also in the bloodstream, just don't overdo it :). It's a cherry gin liqueur from the regional producer of luxury spirits Galli Distillery . In the small glass into which you'll naturally pour your cherry brandy on the go, you'll be greeted by the sweetly coiled and aromatic taste of Hungarian Újfehértoi Fürtös cherries. After a few sips, Hřebenovka will be like butter and you won't get bored either, and if you do, play a game with your companions to see who can pronounce the name of the Hungarian cherry variety the best. That should keep you entertained from Tisá to Jedlová and maybe even on the train ride back...

Also new to Hřebenovka this year is the Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe quality certificate from ERA (European Hiking Federation). What does this mean? In short, Hřebenovka meets the high standards of ERA and is among the best European treks . In a slightly more eloquent way, Hřebenovka leads mostly along natural trails, that it offers breathtaking views of the region, that it leads through charming towns, past important cultural monuments, that it has very visible and clear markings, so you are guaranteed not to get lost on it, that there are many places along the route where you can rest, that it is easily accessible along its entire length, so you can start it almost anywhere and at any stage, and that information about it is available from many public sources, so you can plan your trip comfortably from home, even before you set off.

For Hřebenovka, this means a great award, and for you, the fact that going there is safe, easy, and definitely worth it. For all those who have been trying for years to revive the extinct Central European long-distance route and literally kicked it out of the ground, this means a big Hurray!, which simply must be celebrated. How? Well, with a trip to Hřebenovka!

So let's meet there, and most importantly, let's let each other know about it! #jduhrebenovku
