We will tell you the secret of good luck in Ridge Trail: The softest sleeping is on moss and ferns, the hottest and most brilliant gastronomy is from your own kettle or it can be brought in a backpack. And the fog in the valley is free in spring, autumn and winter (in summer, usually only after a storm or with a fog machine and therefore for a special extra fee :).

Let's start with wellness tips. You've probably noticed that no decent accommodation has been without a hardening barrel, tub or basin for a long time. But why limit yourself so illogically in terms of space when you're surrounded by beautiful wild nature in Ridge Trail, where you can wet your feet (and maybe even your face) with fresh, cooling 100% rejuvenating dew in the morning, and along the way you'll come across several rivers (Křinice, Kamenice...), ponds (Vlčí Lake) and dams (the recently successfully renovated Kyjovská dam), whose pristine purity, sharp temperature (or rather coldness) and beauty cannot be replaced by even the most luxurious hardening barrel?!

With warm procedures, it's a bit more complicated, please forget about DIY sweat lodges in nature (making a fire in the forest is strictly prohibited in Bohemian Switzerland ), so the cheapest way to warm up on Ridge Trail is to climb into a sleeping bag for yourself (or someone else :).

But so that you don't get the impression that we're not doing anything right, you can visit the Aquapark in Děčín for cheap indoor wellness near Ridge Trail. The indoor pools are spacious, there are two heated whirlpools, slides, a children's pool, outdoor pools including a chrome one with a diving pit and in winter there is also a heated outdoor pool. Tuesdays in the sauna traditionally belong to women, Wednesdays to men and there is also a private Relax club , where you can take a sauna, have fun in the whirlpool and relax on loungers with a group of fellow travelers in absolute privacy for a reasonable price.

But our praise of natural wellness doesn't end there. Forest therapy now has its own page on Wikipedia, which means only one thing - it definitely works! :). And if you can navigate the forest without guides, you have the opportunity to do something for your health completely free of charge along the entire Ridge Trail. Fractals against stress, green for tired eyes, fragrant air full of delicate essential oils for the lungs, movement for the heart and circulation, and then the fog in the valley for the sad soul...

Of course, you don't have to become a complete wild boar. At least you can find accommodation in a civilized way, considering the fact that it is forbidden to spend the night in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park on your free time. For pleasant prices (140 CZK for a tent, 140 CZK for an adult, 140 CZK for a car and 50 CZK tourist tax), you can spend the night on the way, for example, right from the beginning of Ridge Trail in the Kemp pod Císařem, which all climbers know. And not only in a tent, but also in cabins and more spacious apartments or, if you are a larger group, you can rent the entire Himmelreich .

In Ostrov, try out a new campsite - Park Ostrov . You can spend the night here on beautiful grassy plots surrounded by forest and you can also organize a pleasant event here, undisturbed by anything (including signal). For example, a wedding, from which you can go straight on your honeymoon. To Ridge Trail, of course.

There is also a pleasant campsite with modern equipment and lots of fun in Děčín . Under the highway bridge and at the confluence of the Elbe and Ploučnice rivers, you can try camping in the middle of the city, in your own tent or in one of the bungalows or glamping tents. And besides, you can easily spend the whole day here with the activities that the campsite, connected to the Děčín Active Point , offers. There is equipment that can be rented (canoes, kayaks, bicycles, electric bicycles, scooters, hoverboards...) and you can also have your experience tailored to your needs, including guide services. You can also rent a bunch of games here - petanque, kanjam, mölkky, table football, badminton, but also board games or giant jenga... you can shoot a bow here or walk along the skid row...

A little further along the Ridge Trail, another point of interest for affordable overnight stays is the Jetřichovice Camp with a pleasant swimming pool and refreshments, a bouncy bubble and a children's playground.

In the Jetřichovice area, you can also plan to sleep in the gradually resuscitated former Jetřichovice Sanatorium . In the garden under sky for 100 CZK, in a tent for 600 CZK and with a caravan for 600 CZK. But there are also tents with underlay, cottages, and even a deluxe suite inside a dilapidated building, where you can experience luxurious urbex for 1500 CZK per night.

Between Hřensko and Jetřichovice, Ridge Trail avoids the symbol of Bohemian Switzerland – Pravčická brána. This is somewhat intentional. Pravčická is beautiful and admirable, but Ridge Trail is mainly about the journey and does not aim to bypass the biggest sensations, for which there is sometimes a queue and tickets are bought like at the cinema. In addition, in the 4th stage of Hřebenovka, a little beyond Mezní louka, a much lesser-known, but all the more surprising "miniature" of Pravčická awaits you . It is prosaically called Malá Pravčická brána, you will not pay any entrance fee here, there will be no crowds and you can comfortably climb to this rare wonder of nature using safely installed ladders and stairs.

If you go to Ridge Trail in winter, you will probably look for accommodation somewhere warm and under a roof. In Hřensko, it could be Penzion Pod skalou . They have really friendly prices for Hřensko and if you stay here for at least two nights, you can take advantage of the free transport offer from the Ústí nad Labem Region Transport Company and significantly reduce your expenses for the entire trek. There are more accommodation providers who are involved in this event to support tourism in the Bohemian Switzerland, so don't forget to ask about this option when booking accommodation! Then all you have to do is download the app to your mobile phone, scan the QR code from the accommodation provider and you can travel for free from Kadaň via Postoloprty to Úštěk. :)
